Eleonas Estate is found in the heart of Messinia, not far from ancient Messini in the southwest Peloponnese (perfecture capital Kalamata). Generation after generation have been carefully producing olive oil in this unspoilt region, with its seemingly endless olive groves, and it is only more recently that Messinian and Kalamata oils have been gaining recognition for their superior quality.
The principal Eleonas estate and family own more than 100,000sqm of olive trees capable of producing in excess of 10,000 litres of the finest "extra virgin" olive oil.
Eleonas literally means "olive grove".
The olive oil is truly exceptional.

The Health Benefits of Olive Oil
The benefits of olive oil are due to mono-unsaturated fatty acids and antioxidants. LDL levels of cholesterol are controlled and HDL are raised.
This raising of good cholesterol levels can help protect against heart disease. Olive oil has a beneficial affect on
gastritis and ulcers, and can lower the
incidence of gallstone formation.
Extra Virgin olive oil contains higher levels of antioxidants because it is not as processed, and studies show that people who have two
tablespoons each day for a week showed less oxidation of LDL cholesterol. Research in Spain has also suggested there are benefits in the prevention of colon cancer.
