 | Rodney Densem - Chairman Rodney Densem founded the wine business in 1972 with his wife Margie, following the sale of their country house hotel in Cheshire. Initially, emphasis was dedicated to the wines of Burgundy & Beaujolais sourcing from individual growers where wines were bottled and produced on the domaine.
With the evolution of wine drinking over the past 35 years, the business has
broadened it’s portfolio to meet demand and they now ship wines directly
from the world’s best wine growing regions. "Quality is of the greatest importance" and it is this philosophy that has led the approach to selections throughout.
|
 | Margie Densem - Director Margie Densem has been primarily responsible for the retail activities of the business at 4 Pillory Street, Nantwich which has been established for over
30 years.
The award-winning shop was voted Independent Off-Licence of the Year – nationally – by Off-Licence News and Martini amongst many additional accolades.

 | Steve Leonard - Managing Director How can one who looks so young have over 15 years experience in the wine trade? (We had to say that - he’s the Boss!!)
Steve swapped from a Banking and Audit background to Hall & Bramley Wine Shippers & Spirit Bottlers in the early 1990’s. From there he went to Classic Wines, firstly selling wine before being appointed Buyer. He joined RDW in 2000 as Operations Manager with buying responsibilities. Appointed a Director in 2001 Steve then became Managing Director in 2003.
Favourite Wines: Rusden Boundaries Cabernet Sauvignon and any French wines forced upon him by Rodney!!

Nick Gent - Director Nick joined the company in
2009, becoming Director of the company's operations. He
joins the Management Team having previously been employed as North West
(Account Development) Manager for Mumm and Perrier Jouet Champagnes at
Pernod Ricard UK and prior to that he worked at Matthew Clark. Nick is
a rum fan but developed a taste for 'pisco sours' on his recent trip to
Chile (apparently in the name of research!)
|
 | Neil Goodwin - Financial Controller Neil previously worked for many years as the accountant for a production company in the paper and laminating industry.
Neil joined the team of Rodney Densem Wines Ltd in 1999 as the 'Financial Controller'. Neil's interests include walking his dogs, shooting and football.

| Clare Rimmer -
Retail Manager Since joining the shop team in August 2005 from Crewe Golf Club and, prior to that, the White Lion at Weston, Clare has broadened her alcoholic beverage knowledge by sampling much of the stock-a tough job but she believes it necessary for advising customers!
She has gained distinctions in The Wine and Spirit Education Trust intermediate and advanced courses and is also now involved in running the website.
Personal favourites range from
Pol Roger Champagne, the beautiful Chateau Lamothe
Cuvee Valentine white, to the wonderfully viscous and fragrant 1884 Reserve
Viognier from Argentina.

| Ellie Cheeseman
- Retail Manager Ellie first joined the shop team as
'Saturday girl' when she was only 15. She
has risen through the ranks to now share the
running of the shop, gaining an expensive taste
for Geverey Chambertin en route!

Gill Millward - Retail Assistant Gill combines her part time role at RDW with a busy family life. Her floristry background is an advantage when designing gift packs for the shop. Gill
enjoys 'big' reds, such as Amarone and Mitius. |
 | Maria Latham - PA to the Directors Maria, our PA to the Directors, joins us bringing with her a wealth of experience from the OTHER side of the bar!!
Maria’s start to office and working life was at 18 at the Magistrate’s Court; she also enjoyed PA roles in Accountancy, Sales and Marketing. A change in career direction found her in North Wales managing Hotels and Networking as a Customer Services Representative for a linen company. Then after managing a country hotel in Cumbria, Maria wanted her social ‘life’ back again so returned to her Cheshire roots, joining us in November 2006 – just in time for the Christmas rush!
Maria’s favourite wine? Something sparkling - a nice chilled rosé, some bubbly or better still both!
|
| | Clare Williams - Sales Advisor Clare returned to RDW in April 2006. Her main duties include telesales, processing customer orders, arranging uplifts and dealing with general customer enquiries.
Clare's favourite tipple is rosé Champagne - she particularly likes Ruinart!
